Tanya Hege-Maisel has been a Physical Therapist working in both the outpatient and hospital settings since 1993. She holds bachelors degrees in Biological Sciences and Visual & Performing Arts from UMBC and graduated from UMAB with academic honors for Physical Therapy. She is a recipient of the Laura G. Levine-Mandell Award for her compassion and kindness during P.T. school as well as being elected into Phi Kappa Phi and Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.

Prior to her Physical Therapy education, Tanya taught children’s ballet and modern dance classes for five years and was a performer and choreographer with several Baltimore dance companies. Tanya currently teaches group therapy classes using the stability ball for stretching, balance and core muscle strengthening. Her primary focus is on assisting the patient to regain proper postural alignment and helping achieve proper body mechanics for their jobs, and everyday lives. She uses her creativity to customize home exercise programs to suit her client’s individual needs.

Tanya also utilizes a wide variety of manual therapy techniques, including: Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Muscle Energy, Myofascial release, and Joint Manipulation and proprioceptive neuromuscular re-education. Tanya has extensive experience treating patients who have been involved in all types of injuries relating to pelvis, shoulder girdle and spine, stroke, chronic pain, and woman’s health issues.
